How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
With a Ph.D. in anthropology and a strong desire to take the expertise of the university to the community, I joined the Kentucky Humanities Council in 1988. Soon thereafter, I launched Kentucky Chautauqua, a service designed to match my commitment to public education and entertainment.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Kentucky Chautauqua is unique in Lexington, in Kentucky, and the nation. We develop and deliver high quality programs to every county in Kentucky.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one headquarters, and are hosted by the University of Kentucky. We have regional partners who help us deliver our programs and services to community organizations and schools everywhere in the Commonwealth. Since 1992, Kentucky Chautauqua has reached 500,000 Kentuckians.
